Well… As things tend to happen, 4-6 weeks turned into 3 months, but our Certificates of Eligibility have been approved! We will be heading to Japan in the next month or so.
CERTIFICATES OF ELIGIBILITY
We woke up Monday morning to a message from our sponsor in Japan. We have been waiting for this message for three months: images of all eight of our certificates. The ball has started to move again!
Now, these certificates are not our visas. That would be too simple, wouldn’t it? We still have a couple more steps in the visa process but we are much closer to having them now.

GOING TO HOUSTON
Before we can apply for our visas, the certificates need to be mailed to us from Japan. This will take about one to two weeks. Once we have them in hand, Cody will fly down to Houston and apply for the actual visas.

FLYING TO JAPAN
After we have our visas, we will be purchasing tickets to go to Japan. We won’t be going over at the same time though. Cody and Truett (our oldest) will be flying over first to find us a place to live and to set up basic living needs.
After they are done, Leah, Leah’s parents, and Cody’s mom will fly out with the rest of the kids. While our parents are there, we will set up the rest of our house and take care of anything else we need.
